686 is an outdoor apparel company rooted in the mountain and urban crossover culture of snowboarding and Los Angeles. As the brand approached its 30-year mark, I was brought in by their marketing leadership to help clarify and evolve what 686 stands for, leading a discovery and design process to uncover core values, reimagine the visual identity, and define a cohesive brand system grounded in technical performance, authenticity, and spirit.
I led collaborative workshops and stakeholder interviews that informed a comprehensive 2022/23 brand book. The work extended into campaign direction, print production, and an evolved logo system, creating a foundation that respects the brand’s heritage while setting a new path forward.
